OVERVIEW

Raked recycled red bricks with contrasting timber and steel façade create a unique warehouse feel integrated with modern contemporary living featuring basement studio, herringbone feature brickwork, recycled timber beams, hydronic heating, steel windows and spa/alfresco area.

Some persistence was required to source the right recycled bricks and timber beams as these were critical building materials. Complex and intricate detailed building was extensively required to create the desired effect. The basement construction was challenging due to difficulty with both basalt rock excavation as well as the reactive soils requiring 72 piers. Installing the spa under-ground in lieu of above-ground created an open alfresco area & views to rear yard.
